The saga began in the year 1946 when Kakkanat Balakrishna Vaidyar started the Ayurveda Asramam after qualifying as a ‘Vaidyar’ (physician) from the Kottackal Arya Vaidya Pattasala (School of Ayurveda). Today we have grown to be among the most trusted manufacturers of Ayurveda medicines. Our thorough dedication and commitment to quality is undisputed in the industry. As a true reflection of our efforts and the faith invested in us by the thousands who have benefited from our medicines we were awarded the prestigious GMP - Good Manufacturing Practices - Certificate, which goes on to speak volumes for the standards we have set for ourselves. The GMP Certificate (No: 39/2002/Dt. Kerala) bestowed on us in July 29th, 2002, is an approval for the pure and scientific methods we diligently stick to during our procuring and manufacturing processes. Needless to say, the certification came as a milestone in our growth from strength to strength and we are only proud to dedicate it to you - you who have placed a large amount of trust in us, showered us with well-wishes and loyalty, you, who are our goodwill ambassadors. We are all familiar with standards like ISI Mark and ISO Certificate which are the hallmarks of good quality products. Similarly, GMP is given to companies engaged in making medicines and whose manufacturing processes conform to high standards of quality by using the best raw materials available and workers have high levels of skill set and experience in the relevant field. For awarding the GMP certificate, the Kerala State Government follows the guidelines issued to the Central Government by the World Health Organisation (WHO). It is thus a guarantee by the governments as well as the global health body given to the people vouching for the quality of the products. The Kakkanat Ayurveda Asramam at Shoranur is among the very few manufacturers of Ayurvedic medicines who have obtained the GMP Certificate.
